340,000 tourists are expected in Sochi for the May holidays.

From April 28 to May 12, Sochi plans to host approximately 340,000 guests, with hotel and sanatorium occupancy reaching around 82 percent. This information was provided by the city mayor's press service.

"Sochi has developed a packed events calendar, tourist attractions are operational, and sanatoriums and boarding houses offer various health programs utilizing the resort's therapeutic capabilities," said Kirill Yarysh, the director of the department of resorts, tourism, and consumer services at the city administration.

Local authorities are also preparing for the start of the summer season. During this period, over 170 beaches will be available in Sochi, including 14 new ones after renovation. It is noted that some hotels and sanatoriums have undergone modernization and will offer new health programs.

The "Open South" program, which runs until the end of spring, includes 15 Sochi sanatoriums and hotels. Tourists could also save on vacations by taking advantage of early booking promotions. The peak of room bookings for these dates is expected by April 10.

For independent tourists, city walking routes have been developed, including visits to significant historical sites such as "City Legends," "Sochi - the City-Hospital. A feat in the name of life," "No One Is Forgotten, Nothing Is Forgotten," "Museums of Nature and Culture of Sochi," "The Gates of the Sunny City," "Historical Boulevard," and ten routes related to military glory, five of which are part of the national project "Tourism and Hospitality Industry."
